A delegation of the Idemax Company, a national creative platform for innovation, met with representatives of the Centro Científico Tecnológico de Valparaíso (CCTVal) in an extensive meeting that included the participation of management, academics and researchers linked to the Center’s technological innovation area. All of this with the aim of exploring innovation methods applicable to the elaboration process of technology transfer projects and joint development of corporate Spinoffs.

Rodrigo Edwards, PUC Economist, founded the national platform with Sebastián Amaral, U. del Pacífico Designer and Diego Uribe, PUC Business Administrator. Idemax has developed a working system that seeks to provide management or professionals with strategies that will enable them to combine innovation with the creation of new projects, products or services, that is to say, encourage creative thinking applied to business.

On this basis, a meeting was conducted between both organizations in the CCTVal offices, located at Universidad Santa María’s main campus. The day started with Idemax’s presentation of their working model that seeks to increase the success probability of a new business. Afterwards, both delegations toured the Center’s laboratories located within University grounds.

This initiative took place within the frame of collaboration and reinforcement of the projects and innovation area that CCTVal has promoted to foster the development process of Industry applicable solutions. This process has triggered the interest of having collaborations with organizations such as Idemax that support creation processes for the development of contemporary commercial solutions, as Francisco Soto, CCTVal Project and Innovation Manager points out “we are looking to increase our capacity to connect our technological innovations and R+D capabilities with major corporations”.

Within the same context, Francisco Soto highlights the relevance of implementing an effective and innovative method to back up the creation of projects and points out that “the developing cycle of a new product includes a number of commercial stages that nowadays the Center does not have for all of its current projects, which is why a collaboration with Idemax would help us make this work more effective”.

To adjust to the current market requirements, CCTVal has succeeded in establishing major collaboration agreements with a number of diverse organizations and hopes to continue on that road. As highlighted by Francisco Soto “Idemax has a component based on the constant validation of the developed innovation process with the client, which must also be encouraged in the Center”; it is vital to implement methods that foster creativity in the development of technology transfer projects.
