CCTVal participated in the realization of the third version of SUMMIT USM 2018

The event focused on digital transformation was carried out during the month of November at Casa Piedra in the city of Santiago and brought together prominent national and international exhibitors in the areas of artificial intelligence, 5G, IoT and energy transition, among others.

The event focused on digital transformation was carried out during the month of November at Casa Piedra in the city of Santiago and brought together prominent national and international exhibitors in the areas of artificial intelligence, 5G, IoT and energy transition, among others.

Tech Innovation SUMMIT USM 2018, was organized by the Federico Santa María Technical University through its business incubator 3IE, the activity was attended by the Rector of the UTFSM, Darcy Fuenzalida, who gave the start to the day that included a block of talks led by: Tadashi Takaoka, Manager of Entrepreneurship CORFO; Francisco Larraín, Co-founder & CEO, IntroLogic; and Barbarita Lara, Computer Engineer USM - Founder & CEO, Emercom - Chilean Innovator of the Year.

Additionally, attendees were able to attend the plenary talks of Dr. Anima Anandkumar, Director of Machine Learning Research, NVIDIA and Dr. William Tucker, Executive Director of Innovation Access, University of California - Davis. During the afternoon the event was complemented by workshop sessions that were divided into the themes of Artificial Intelligence, 5G-IoT Networks and Energy Transition.

During the development of SUMMIT USM in CCTVal, its main initiatives were exhibited, such as the production of carbon fiber mirrors for astronomical observation, which is carried out in collaboration with the Núcleo Milenio NPF project of the University of Valparaíso; the design of biomaterials for medical procedures and monitoring with bioanalytics for the safety of people during working hours.
